The BIPOC Meditation Group (or Collective) is an offering for Black and Indigenous Peoples and People of Color (BIPOC) to help foster a space of safety, awareness, community, and healing. Phoenix is taking a break from leading, and fellow dharma teachers Gina and Melanie have agreed to co-facilitate in her absence.
The sit begins at 8pm. Prior to the sit, you are invited to join an informal check-in/ hang-out at 7:00pm.
The BIPOC sit is an opportunity to share our personal, social, political, and/or spiritual lives together, supported by the teachings and practice of mindfulness meditation. Our meetings include meditation practice, contemplative discussion, and tea and socializing. We are open to anyone who self-identifies as BIPOC, and individuals from any or no spiritual tradition are welcome. No prior meditation experience is required. Please come as you are. Donations gratefully accepted (but not expected) and go toward sustaining the growth of the collective.
